Goplo Millennium Landscape Park

Established by a directive issued by the Minister of Forestry and Timber Industry on 15th September 1967, Goplo Millennium Landscape Park is an area of farmland, meadows and pasturages, forests, bogs, reed lands and, of course, the lake. Millennium Park was established not only in order to protect birds but also to preserve the historical value of the region, connected with the beginnings of the Polish state.
The flora of the park is rich and diverse. So far, about 770 plant species and more than 200 bird species have been inventoried. The park, irrespective of the form of nature protection it undertook within last years (from a sanctuary to a landscape park), has become a distinctive icon of the Kuyavian region.
